song for grandmother, born and raised in (Brighton) Melbourne, Australia, who married US Navy soldier grandfather in 1947 and then left with him to rural country North Carolina. inspired by a dream, both the song and the lady. an imagined ancestral memory, the kind when you dream yourself into a place heard all about in your youth and so time is all slippery by the time you get there
